Chris Nakamura started Apex Electric in 2011 after working for a large contractor where he watched good electricians consistently cut corners to meet production quotas. He left, bought a single van, and decided to build something different.
The rule: pull every permit, do every inspection, stand behind every job for 10 years. The business grew slowly — by referral, not by volume. Today, Apex has eight licensed electricians and does work across Brookline, Newton, Dedham, and the surrounding area.
In the last three years, roughly 60% of Apex's residential work has been EV charger installations and panel upgrades to support them. The work changed — the standards didn't.
